As winter sets into the Gunnison Valley, a few WARM fellows had the chance to attend an Energy Elevated Summit at Western Colorado University. During this event Jake Jones of the Crested Butte Land Trust spoke on the evolution of the ongoing land exchange on Red Lady (Mt Emmons) with the Freeport-McMoRan mining company in conjunction with the USFS. they are Hoping to finalize the land exchange by 2024, following a 6 decade fight for mineral rights on the mountain.
